Each year the Young Professionals Committee of the AIAA Hampton Roads Section holds a paper competition to recognize outstanding on-the-job
technical accomplishments of our young members.
To be eligible, the first-authored paper must have been either published or
accepted for publication in an archival and refereed publication and
originally submitted while the first author was an AIAA member under the age
of 35. Archival and refereed publications include journal articles, NASA
Technical papers, and other papers that are reviewed by an editorial
committee. Conference papers are NOT eligible. Please note that papers
previously entered in this competition, which did not receive first, second,
or third place can be re-submitted this year.
The award for the winning paper, judged on technical content and style by an independent reviewing committee, will be presented at the Spring Section Awards Banquet in May 2008. The winner will receive a certificate and a FREE one-year membership to AIAA, and his or her name will be engraved on a plaque permanently on display in the H.J.E. Reid Center at NASA Langley. Prizes for second and third place will also be given. Young members interested in participating in this year's paper competition shall submit three copies of the manuscript, a copy of the publication acceptance letter, and author information (including age and AIAA membership number) by Friday, February 22, 2008 to:
