Cost is $5 for member for all you can eat - until they run out - oyster & crabs. (Also fried chicken for those with allergies to seafood.) It's only $7 for non-members (and it's free for them and a guest if they join AIAA at the roast).

For many years we have been enjoying the Oyster Roast at the LaRC picnic grounds. The picnic has become a "family matter" and an opportunity to see many young and old friends again. Because of the recent security measures at NASA, some of our members might not be able to enter LaRC. To accommodate all members we found a new place for this year’s picnic. The picnic was to be held at the Sandy Bottom Nature Park but the park would have imposed some unaccustomed restrictions on our picnic activities. Thanks to our own HRS member, Bruce Jackson, we have found a much nicer place to have the picnic. The new location for the picnic will be at Dare Marina on the waterfront. Unfortunately, there aren't any playgrounds for kids at this new location, however, we hope that the kids will enjoy each other’s company and the relaxed settings will be a lot of fun for everybody. We are sorry for any inconvenience due to these changes. If you had made reservations (for Tuesday) please reconfirm your RSVP for this new date. Let’s try to have a great picnic and let’s be careful around the water. Thank you for your support.
