- 2-m, - The two-meter Amateur Radio band, defined as the frequencies between 144.0 to 148.0 MHz.
- 70-cm, - The 70-centimeter Amateur Radio band, defined as the frequencies between 432.0 to 448.0 MHz.
- AMSAT-NA, - The Amateur Radio Satellite Corporation of North America.
- 8-ch, - Referring to an eight channel device.
- HF, - High Frequency, defined as the 3-30 MHz range of frequencies.
- TNC, - A terminal node controller device, used between a radio tranceiver and a personal computer for digital packet communications.
- UHF, - Ultra-High Frequency, defined as the 300-3000 MHz range of frequencies.
- VHF, - Very High Frequency, defined as the 30-300 MHz range of frequencies.
