The photo above represents a transit of the Russian Space Station Mir on October 16, 1995 at 19:51 hours local time. The movement of Mir was ascending, moving lower left to upper right. To the upper left is a tree limb, the lower center left is the apex of the roof my home, and to the right is a tall cedar bush. I included these items so as to give a better visual reference for the size, brilliance, and movement of Mir when making visual observations. This 10 second time exposure photograph was taken using a 35mm camera, 50mm f1.2 telephoto lens, ASA 400 commercial grade film, tripod, and a shutter release.
