(STS-89) Friday, 01/30/1998. A south to east transit from 6:27 to 6:29 p.m. Peak elevation will occur in the southeastern sky at 6:28, about 26 degrees above the horizon. Orbital altitude 364 km. (Mir) Friday, 01/30/1998. A south to east transit from 6:30 to 6:33 p.m. Peak elevation will occur in the southeastern sky at 6:32, about 30 degrees above the horizon. Orbital altitude 383 km.

Result - Shuttle Endeavour was visible at 6:27 p.m. on Friday Jan 30. Endeavour had separated from Mir the previous day and was in a lower orbit. Both Endeavour and Mir faded into earth shadow in the eastern sky. One extra treat, Progress M-37 was observed trailing Mir by about 6 seconds. Endeavour is scheduled to land at KSC on Saturday.
